Necklace size guide
Finding the right necklace length should feel simple.
This guide shows where the most common lengths usually sit on the body and how to choose the best one for everyday wear or gifting.
Standard necklace lengths
• 15–16" – sits close to the neck, a short everyday “almost choker” length.
• 18" – the most common everyday length, usually around the collarbone.
• 20" – sits just below the collarbone, good over simple tops.
• 22–24" – a longer, relaxed length that works well over higher necklines.
• 30"+ – a long layering piece that sits low on the chest.

How to choose your length
• For an everyday, quiet necklace, 18" is a safe choice for most people.
• If the wearer is very petite or likes a closer fit, consider 16".
• If they prefer a looser look or wear higher necklines, 20–22" often works better.
• For layering, leave at least 2" (5 cm) between each length (for example: 16" + 18" + 20").
